Terms of Service

Your account

• You sign in with a Google or Discord account. Keeping that account secure is on you; anything done while signed in as you is your responsibility.
• You are responsible for all content published under your account.
• The service is free. There is nothing to buy and no billing to cancel.

Your content

This isn't a personal document or file-storage service, so we don't promise the same kind of exclusive control over what you build here that you might expect from one. Your account information is different, and that's covered by our Privacy Policy. This section is about the items, mods, and recipes you create.

The moment you publish something, even once, even briefly, you give Karsus Codex a permanent, non-exclusive license to use it: to display it in the public library, let other users download the mods built from it, and reuse it ourselves, including building it into official recipes, other mods, or future tools and features we add to the site. Unpublishing or deleting it removes it from the public library, but it does not take back that license.

We only reuse content that's been published. Items you keep unpublished stay off the public library and out of anything we build.

You are responsible for making sure anything you publish does not infringe someone else's rights.

Acceptable use

Do not publish content that:

• is hateful, or harasses, threatens, or demeans people or groups;
• is illegal or promotes illegal activity;
• is abusive toward other users, including impersonating them;
• is designed to harm the people who download it, such as malware or exploits hidden in a mod.

Do not attack the service itself: no attempts to break authentication, disrupt the site, or scrape it at abusive volume.

Enforcement is at our sole discretion. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules, with or without warning. If you find content that violates them, report it through the contact page.

The service is provided as is

Karsus Codex is an independent hobby project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Larian Studios or Wizards of the Coast. The service is provided "as is" and "as available", with no warranties of any kind. We make no guarantees about uptime, about generated mods behaving in your game, or about the service continuing to exist in its current form. We may change or discontinue any part of it at any time. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service.

Account termination

You can walk away at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account and its data; the Privacy Policy explains how. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, as covered in the acceptable-use section above.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the platform evolves. When we do, we will refresh the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
